akin to Persian khoda; Hindu khooda.
P.S. My name is Bahereh Khodadoost. My
first name is fairly unusual even in my country, Iran. Bahereh means
shiny,
clear. My last name is my father’s last name, given to me at birth.
Khodadoost
is a compound word, consisting of two words, Khoda meaning God, and
Doost
meaning Friend. The equivalent to this word in English (OLD) is
Godfrey.
